It was just last year, in 2011, that Seckou joined the Astar Artes label. Together they set out on a journey to work on a new musical chapter, the first results of which is the release of Miro, recorded with a brand new seven-piece band and special guests, set to tour the UK throughout October and November. The Miro project represents a return to Seckou’s roots combining the original Mandinka and Wolof traditions that inspired him as a child, together with his contemporary experiences collected all over the world on the way. Worldwide digital release will be 1st October. Physical release in the UK will be 8th October. The album will also be sold on tour from the 3rd October.
